PRCE DROPPED – 1977 GIBSON THUNDERBIRD BICENTENNIAL BASS IN SUNBURST FINISH WITH ORIGINAL CASE

Highlights:
Great condition for this rare Gibson US made 1977 Thunderbird Bass from the limited Bicentennial edition. These basses were only produced form 1976 to 1979 and less than 2000 were made, according to Gibson. This one is all original and its surprisingly light with a phenomenal sustain and such an incredible tone. The neck is slim and comfortable and action is nice and low. Frets are in good condition and everything works as it should. The original alnico pickup are just magic and the high output is quite amazing considering they are nearly 50 old. Strap pin has been moved and original screw hole professionally filled but that’s all. The original Black tolex hard case is in great nick too with all the original latches working as they should . One for collectors and players.

One of the nicest rickenbacker I have ever played , all original , light weight and an absolute stunner.

The checking on the finish is something no custom shop could ever replicate.

The neck is slim and action is slow with a superb playability. Classic Ricky thunderous tone with that clarity and growl typical of these instruments.

The original electronic works perfectly and the original hard case is in very nice condition with all the latches still fully functional.

1975 Fender Precision Bass in Original Natural finish With Fender Hard Case

Highlights:

Very nice and clean vintage Fender Precision Bass, especially considering this beauty is 49 years old. Made in 1975 in USA by Fender in factory natural finish with amazing tone and heaps of sustain. The body has the typical hairline checking of a a nearly 50 years old aged finish and the original white pickguard looks so pretty on it. Great condition on frets, fretboard, trussrod moving smooth left and right and the original pots and pickups are in perfect working condition. Capacitor replaced before I got it but pots and pickups untouched and all dated 1975. All the original hardware is in great nick as well. Really great bass, perfect for a collector or a player Comes with the original Fender Black Tolex case, thumb rest ,pickup and bridge covers as well.

1978 MUSICMAN STINGRAY BASS IN NATURAL FINISH – LIGHT WEIGHT

Highlights:

Original rare early musicman Stingray from the third year of production with the original coveted black epoxy preamp.

The neck and body are stamped 1978 and the Tone and sustain of this bass is out of this world.

Grain on the ash body is gorgeous and the ageing and mojo is just sublime.

The weight is really good as these B00 usually weight close to 5kg but this particular one sits at 4kg which makes a lot more comfortable to play for long gigs and one of the lightest I have ever seen.

Being an early one , it has the original high mass bridge with string through the body.

The Bone nut has been swapped for a brass one at some point.

Preamp , pickup and pots are perfectly working with no buzz or scratchy noise.

These are skyrocketing everywhere and they are considered the precbs of musicman.

1968 RICKENBACKER 4001 BASS IN FIREGLO FINISH WITH ORIGINAL HARD CASE

Highlights:

Absurdly rare, these 60s rickenbacker 4001 basses are some of the most sought after instruments on the planet , and for a good reason.

Completely unmolested and inside the original case, this bass is something else.

Crushed pearl inlays, checkerboard binding , toaster pickup, horseshoe pickup, mono jack input , bigger headstock , reversed kluson tuners.

All features only available through the 60s and discontinued the following decade when production ramped up.

Apparently only 83 fireglo 68 4001 were produced and this is a perfect example of the craftmanship and attention to details of those days.

Phenomenal tone, great weight and really nice neck profile.

The original case has seen better days and has been over sprayed but it’s still there and that’s all it matters.

1963 Fender Jazz Bass in Sunburst finish – Pre CBS – With Original Case

From the 4th year of production, this 61 years old Fender Jazz Bass is just perfection. Great weight, amazing tone, super comfortable neck profile, coveted Brazilian rosewood fretboard and a stunning 3 tone sunburst finish, all topped by the original rare cream tolex hard case, which was only made for less than a year. The alder body is resonant and light, finished in a beautiful 3 colour sunburst where the red hasn’t faded and still nice and vibrant. The pickguard doesn’t have cracks or the common snapped horns and doesn’t show signs of shrinking. The original 1963 pots work without scratches and the black bobbin pickups sounds delightful. Straight neck with a fully functional trussrod and a nice and smooth profile , so comfortable to play. Pickups covers in great condition as the rest of the original hardware. One for players and collectors.

Comes with the original branded gig bag Here is a full description from the Stonefield website Topwood: Cypress Fingerboard: Solomon Island Ebony Fingerboard Markers: Burghundy within White Gem Dots Fingerboard Radius: Zero Hardware: Titanium/blue Binding: – fine line: Australian Blackwood Sap – thick edge: Jarrah Nut: Jarrah Back of Neck Finish: Natural An M Series with a twist; This one was built to a unique set of specifications and is one of only two basses we’ve ever built with a zero-radius fingerboard and a centre veneer on the front covering the laminates of the through-body core. It has also been sprayed in a matte satin clear and has a Funk Plate and Ramp, both veneered in tiger myrtle to match the jarrah binding and bridge. String Spacing: Classic (approx 19mm between strings at the bridge) Due to the low serial number, a unique build and the addition of customer requested mods, this bass has true potential for collectibility. A few notes: This is only the second bass we’ve made with a zero radius fingerboard. Note the cypress veneer over the laminates in the centre of the body. This is only the second instrument on which we’ve veneered over the laminates. In addition to the Funk Plate a ramp has been added between the rear pickup and bridge.
