The neck is straight with a great low action, good weight and a much wider tone due to the stacked tone pot.

This version of the jazz bass only lasted 3 years and is known as “longhorn” or “boner” due to the longer upper horn to balance the weight as the short one has been cut deeper to access all the frets on the neck.

1983 USA FENDER JAZZ BASS FROM THE “AVRI” SERIES WITH ORIGINAL CASE

Highlights:

From the second year of the Avri series, this USA made fender jazz bass is the ultimate player and such a looker.

Upgraded at some point with a set of custom shop pickup and concentric knobs , had a refinish in Olympic white done a long time ago and has already started to age into this gorgeous ivory colour.

Pickguard and saddles upgraded too.

medium low action , slim neck profile and a great weight.

A bass like this , if completely original, sells for around 5k USD.

1976 Fender Precision Bass in Original Natural finish With Original Hard Case

Highlights:

Really nice wood grain for this 1976 Fender Precision Bass.

This 49 years old stunner is very light and makes the perfect player without breaking the bank.

Has been played but it’s still all original and retain the natural factory finish.

Frets were quite worn so it had a professional regret and has no buzz and a nice low action now.

Like most of the natural finished fender from this era , a fair bit of the clear coat peeled but the undercoat and sealant are still intact and in good condition and had some clear poly touch up.

The pickguard retains the original sticker with serial matching the headstock one.

Body and neck stamped armenta which is consider one of the best fender workers of his time.

Pots and pickups dated 1976 with untouched solder joints.

Overall a great instrument with a solid B profile neck and a marvellous tone and a very light and comfortable weight.

Comes with original vintage Fender hard case

Light and resonant , with a sublime neck profile and the perfect Pbass tone, this bass is just a work of art. Nitro finish, Brazilian Rosewood fretboard and black bobbins pickups ( all features from the early preCBS days, but 68 was a transition year at Fender and they used all the leftovers, making some of the best instruments ever made). Let’s not forget those gracious and rare Oval tuners aka Lollipop or Paddle, which were only available on the early 1968 Pbasses. Beside a new nut and a replaced screw on one of tuners, this instrument is completely original, with untouched solder joints, both covers still on and comes inside the original Stamford case. A very rare bass , completely hand made in New Zealand by the genius of Tomm Stanley . They are made using a very unique design and locally sourced timber. Comes with the original branded gig bag Here is a full description from the Stonefield website Topwood: Cypress Fingerboard: Solomon Island Ebony Fingerboard Markers: Burghundy within White Gem Dots Fingerboard Radius: Zero Hardware: Titanium/blue Binding: – fine line: Australian Blackwood Sap – thick edge: Jarrah Nut: Jarrah Back of Neck Finish: Natural An M Series with a twist; This one was built to a unique set of specifications and is one of only two basses we’ve ever built with a zero-radius fingerboard and a centre veneer on the front covering the laminates of the through-body core. It has also been sprayed in a matte satin clear and has a Funk Plate and Ramp, both veneered in tiger myrtle to match the jarrah binding and bridge. String Spacing: Classic (approx 19mm between strings at the bridge) Due to the low serial number, a unique build and the addition of customer requested mods, this bass has true potential for collectibility. A few notes: This is only the second bass we’ve made with a zero radius fingerboard. Note the cypress veneer over the laminates in the centre of the body. This is only the second instrument on which we’ve veneered over the laminates. In addition to the Funk Plate a ramp has been added between the rear pickup and bridge. 1977 Fender Precision Bass in Original Natural finish

Highlights:

Very nice condition Fender Precision Bass, made in 1977 in the US. This bass has a really nice neck profile , not too heavy sitting at 4.4kg and has a really nice growl, classic of this Fender era . All original , just had some copper shielding applied inside the electronic cavity to get a rid of any sort of hum but it’s just copper tape , so easy to remove (I wouldn’t as it’s an improvement and doesn’t devalue it). Frets in good condition and trussrod moves smooth left and right with zero issues. Action in low with no buzz and the original pots and pickups works like new. Great player and a beautiful looking instrument.

1968 RICKENBACKER 4001 BASS IN FIREGLO FINISH WITH ORIGINAL HARD CASE

Highlights:

Absurdly rare, these 60s rickenbacker 4001 basses are some of the most sought after instruments on the planet , and for a good reason.

Completely unmolested and inside the original case, this bass is something else.

Crushed pearl inlays, checkerboard binding , toaster pickup, horseshoe pickup, mono jack input , bigger headstock , reversed kluson tuners.

All features only available through the 60s and discontinued the following decade when production ramped up.

Apparently only 83 fireglo 68 4001 were produced and this is a perfect example of the craftmanship and attention to details of those days.

Phenomenal tone, great weight and really nice neck profile.

The original case has seen better days and has been over sprayed but it’s still there and that’s all it matters.

PRCE DROPPED – 1977 GIBSON THUNDERBIRD BICENTENNIAL BASS IN SUNBURST FINISH WITH ORIGINAL CASE

Highlights:
Great condition for this rare Gibson US made 1977 Thunderbird Bass from the limited Bicentennial edition. These basses were only produced form 1976 to 1979 and less than 2000 were made, according to Gibson. This one is all original and its surprisingly light with a phenomenal sustain and such an incredible tone. The neck is slim and comfortable and action is nice and low. Frets are in good condition and everything works as it should. The original alnico pickup are just magic and the high output is quite amazing considering they are nearly 50 old. Strap pin has been moved and original screw hole professionally filled but that’s all. The original Black tolex hard case is in great nick too with all the original latches working as they should . One for collectors and players.
