Highlights:

Possibly the rarest and most iconic version of the musicman Stingray, completely original and with case, original strap and catalogue, this bass is not just just a rarity, but one of the most iconic bass guitars of all times. Just like the one Pino Palladino used in the 80s with Paul Young, this 1979 original fretless musicman Stingray comes from my personal collection and will be listed only for a limited time so if you are interested, don’t hesitate to contact me. I have owned this beauty for a few years now and I have looked after it, servicing it regularly and oiling the fretboard to make sure it stays nice and dark. The body is unreal with one of the nicest timber figuring I have seen on one of these pre Ernie ball basses. The Musicman black strap is extremely rare as well and so is the catalogue inside the original black tolex case. There is also a musicman brass buckle from 1978 inside the case. Ernie Ball has made a reissue of these which I have tried and let me tell you, it’s not quite the same. Regretful sale but I have just purchased an expensive bass and something has to go, although if I sell something else in the meantime I will take the listing down and put this gem back in my collection.

Not to be confused with the Asian Musicman Sterling sub brand , this is the original USA Sterling model and it’s based on the stingray, but with a thinner neck and more tonal options. Perfect, not one mark or scuff equipped with the sought after original Flea high mass bridge with mutes. Gorgeous Birdseye maple neck and the sunburst finish is just spot on. Comes with the rare short tolex case which was only available for the first few months of production of this American Musicman Ernie Ball model. A great bass, as a player or collector piece. Renowned for its slightly smaller body and neck profile, the Sterling 4 string bass boasts a big sound. Nine volt active 3 band EQ preamp, 3 position pickup selector switch, and a ceramic humbucker with hum canceling phantom coil come standard, equipping the Sterling to cut through any mix. Superb example of early 70s rickenbacker , all original and with rare toaster pickup, checkerboard binding and long triangle inlays,

Complete with original black tolex hard case, this instrument is the quintessential Ricky, and a rare one too.

Some filled holes behind the headstock indicating it had different tuners at some point but the original ones are back on it and they are perfectly functional.

1963 Fender Jazz Bass in Sunburst finish – Pre CBS – With Original Case

From the 4th year of production, this 61 years old Fender Jazz Bass is just perfection. Great weight, amazing tone, super comfortable neck profile, coveted Brazilian rosewood fretboard and a stunning 3 tone sunburst finish, all topped by the original rare cream tolex hard case, which was only made for less than a year. The alder body is resonant and light, finished in a beautiful 3 colour sunburst where the red hasn’t faded and still nice and vibrant. The pickguard doesn’t have cracks or the common snapped horns and doesn’t show signs of shrinking. The original 1963 pots work without scratches and the black bobbin pickups sounds delightful. Straight neck with a fully functional trussrod and a nice and smooth profile , so comfortable to play. Pickups covers in great condition as the rest of the original hardware. A very rare bass , completely hand made in New Zealand by the genius of Tomm Stanley . They are made using a very unique design and locally sourced timber. It has also been sprayed in a matte satin clear and has a Funk Plate and Ramp, both veneered in tiger myrtle to match the jarrah binding and bridge. String Spacing: Classic (approx 19mm between strings at the bridge) Due to the low serial number, a unique build and the addition of customer requested mods, this bass has true potential for collectibility. 1978 MUSICMAN STINGRAY BASS IN NATURAL FINISH – LIGHT WEIGHT

Highlights:

Original rare early musicman Stingray from the third year of production with the original coveted black epoxy preamp.

The neck and body are stamped 1978 and the Tone and sustain of this bass is out of this world.

Grain on the ash body is gorgeous and the ageing and mojo is just sublime.

The weight is really good as these B00 usually weight close to 5kg but this particular one sits at 4kg which makes a lot more comfortable to play for long gigs and one of the lightest I have ever seen.

Being an early one , it has the original high mass bridge with string through the body.

The Bone nut has been swapped for a brass one at some point.

Preamp , pickup and pots are perfectly working with no buzz or scratchy noise.

These are skyrocketing everywhere and they are considered the precbs of musicman.

1977 Fender Precision Bass in Original Natural finish

Highlights:

Very nice condition Fender Precision Bass, made in 1977 in the US. This bass has a really nice neck profile , not too heavy sitting at 4.4kg and has a really nice growl, classic of this Fender era . All original , just had some copper shielding applied inside the electronic cavity to get a rid of any sort of hum but it’s just copper tape , so easy to remove (I wouldn’t as it’s an improvement and doesn’t devalue it). Frets in good condition and trussrod moves smooth left and right with zero issues. Action in low with no buzz and the original pots and pickups works like new. Great player and a beautiful looking instrument.

PRCE DROPPED – 1977 GIBSON THUNDERBIRD BICENTENNIAL BASS IN SUNBURST FINISH WITH ORIGINAL CASE

Highlights:
Great condition for this rare Gibson US made 1977 Thunderbird Bass from the limited Bicentennial edition. These basses were only produced form 1976 to 1979 and less than 2000 were made, according to Gibson. This one is all original and its surprisingly light with a phenomenal sustain and such an incredible tone. The neck is slim and comfortable and action is nice and low. Frets are in good condition and everything works as it should. The original alnico pickup are just magic and the high output is quite amazing considering they are nearly 50 old. Strap pin has been moved and original screw hole professionally filled but that’s all. The original Black tolex hard case is in great nick too with all the original latches working as they should . One for collectors and players.

1968 Fender Precision Bass in Rare Candy Apple Custom Finish With Original Hard Case

Absolutely stunning and very rare custom candy Apple Red finish for this 58 years old Fender Precision bass. Light and resonant , with a sublime neck profile and the perfect Pbass tone, this bass is just a work of art. Nitro finish, Brazilian Rosewood fretboard and black bobbins pickups ( all features from the early preCBS days, but 68 was a transition year at Fender and they used all the leftovers, making some of the best instruments ever made). Let’s not forget those gracious and rare Oval tuners aka Lollipop or Paddle, which were only available on the early 1968 Pbasses. Beside a new nut and a replaced screw on one of tuners, this instrument is completely original, with untouched solder joints, both covers still on and comes inside the original Stamford case.
