1991 MUSICMAN STINGRAY BASS IN AMAZING CONDITION WITH ORIGINAL CASE
1994 US Ernie Ball Musicman Sterling Bass in Mint Condition With Original Case
Another bass from my personal time machine. This Musicman Sterling Bass is an absolute stunner . Not to be confused with the Asian Musicman Sterling sub brand , this is the original USA Sterling model and it’s based on the stingray, but with a thinner neck and more tonal options. Perfect, not one mark or scuff equipped with the sought after original Flea high mass bridge with mutes. Gorgeous Birdseye maple neck and the sunburst finish is just spot on. Comes with the rare short tolex case which was only available for the first few months of production of this American Musicman Ernie Ball model. A great bass, as a player or collector piece. Renowned for its slightly smaller body and neck profile, the Sterling 4 string bass boasts a big sound. Nine volt active 3 band EQ preamp, 3 position pickup selector switch, and a ceramic humbucker with hum canceling phantom coil come standard, equipping the Sterling to cut through any mix. The optional addition of a pickup in the neck position adds even more versatility to this innovative bass. The Sterling delivers comfort, functionality, and the precision craftsmanship and attention to detail you’ve come to expect from Ernie Ball Music Man.
1954 Fender Precision Bass – ONE OF THE FIRST 1200 FENDER BASSES EVER MADE
One of the nicest example from the first generation of the Fender Precision Bass. With a graciously aged butterscotch finish, it’s just perfection and plays beautifully as you would expect from one of these 51-54 Pbasses. Detlef Schmidt is the author of what’s considered the most accurate book about the first generation of the Precision Bass, he collected as many serial numbers as he could and this one is featured on his list. The neck has a great patina with the classic finish wear at the back, which is common to these early 40s and 50s Fender instruments. Flat head screw on tuners, neckplate and pick guard as supposed for these. Original covers still there and came with a tweed case that looks like may have been externally modified but looks all original inside, although is hard to confirm. Bass is completely original, with pots perfectly working as well as the black bobbin pickup and the original paper capacitor. It came in with a reissue pickup but the original 1954 black bobbin (which sounds amazing) was inside the tweed case and is now back with the bass and rest of the wiring is untouched. The finish has a gorgeous checking and looks like they patched a couple of extra screws holes (possibly a thumb rest) but they are barely noticeable. Bass is very light and resonant with an incredible sustain due to the string through the body. The pencil dates are unfortunately not legible anymore but the serial of this bass is present on the bridge and can be found on Detlef Schmidt’s book. These early models are becoming incredibly hard to come by and this one is a great example.

FENDER KINGMAN ACOUSTIC BASS WITH HARD CASE AND EXTRAS
Fender Kingman Acoustic Bass In immaculate condition, with $400 extras and a professional setup. Just setup by my luthier, it now plays beautifully and with a very low action and a great tone. It comes with a hard case instead of the gig bag they normally come with. Also included are a Boss TU80 tuner and a Genuine Fender leather strap (RRP$200). This bass plays way better than any kinsman I have tried in store due to the professional setup, it’s just magnificent. Inspired by the iconic designs of Fender electric guitars, California Player acoustics evoke the west coast spirit of adventure and freedom, inviting musicians to explore their individual creativity and disrupt the status quo. Crafted with an X-braced solid spruce top and laminate sapele back and sides, the compact mid-sized auditorium body of the Kingman Bass produces a deep, punchy, and articulate tone and features a cutaway for convenient access to the upper frets. The bound nato neck is includes block inlays with a slim “C”-shaped Jazz Bass profile. It is an easy-to-play short 30″ scale length. Other notable details include open-gear vintage-style tuning machines for smooth, accurate tuning, a GraphTech NuBone nut and saddle for focused fundamental tone, and a Fishman Presys preamp system that allows detailed fine-tuning of the bass’s amplified sound when performing or recording.

Vintage 1981 Ken Smith BT4 – True “Fodera Era” Build w/ Medallion & Bill Lawrence
This is not just a Ken Smith bass, it is a foundational document of the modern electric bass. This BT4 (Body Top) model from 1981 bears the extraordinarily low Serial #074, placing it among the very first instruments ever produced by Ken Smith.
The Fodera / New York Luthiery Connection
This bass was handcrafted during the crucial period when legendary luthier Vinnie Fodera worked directly with Ken Smith in New York.
To own this BT4 #074 is like to acquire the heritage and craftsmanship of the “Genesis” of boutique basses.
It features the coveted metal medallion on the headstock, the definitive mark of early production excellence.
If you are looking for that thick, percussive “growl” that catapulted Ken Smith to global fame, this is it.
