Stunning Fender Jazz Bass from the coveted pre cbs L series. This Bass is nice and light with great sustain and all the features discontinued not long after Leo Fender sold the company to CBS in 1965. Beside a professional re-fret and nitro refinish, this beauty is all original, with pots and pickups dated correctly . Hardware is in great condition and reverse kluson tuners still work like a charm. Discontinued Brazilian Rosewood fretboard and clay dots, with a neck profile amongst the best I have ever played. 1978 Fender Precision Bass in Rare Wine Red finish With Original Hard Case

Highlights:

Gorgeous and rare finish for this 47 years old Fender Precision Bass, all original and with a very comfortable weight, especially for a late 70s one.
Sitting at 4.3Kg, makes it a great gigging instrument.
The finish is called wine red as well as translucent red and only lasted for a couple of years before it got discontinued.
This bass is 100% original and has a beautiful deep and growly tone, as you would expect from a vintage Pbass.
The original covers are still on the bass.

Comes inside the vintage Fender Black tolex case.

1954 Fender Precision Bass – ONE OF THE FIRST 1200 FENDER BASSES EVER MADE

Highlights:

One of the nicest example from the first generation of the Fender Precision Bass. With a graciously aged butterscotch finish, it’s just perfection and plays beautifully as you would expect from one of these 51-54 Pbasses. Detlef Schmidt is the author of what’s considered the most accurate book about the first generation of the Precision Bass, he collected as many serial numbers as he could and this one is featured on his list. The neck has a great patina with the classic finish wear at the back, which is common to these early 40s and 50s Fender instruments. Flat head screw on tuners, neckplate and pick guard as supposed for these. Original covers still there and came with a tweed case that looks like may have been externally modified but looks all original inside, although is hard to confirm. Bass is completely original, with pots perfectly working as well as the black bobbin pickup and the original paper capacitor. It came in with a reissue pickup but the original 1954 black bobbin (which sounds amazing) was inside the tweed case and is now back with the bass and rest of the wiring is untouched. The finish has a gorgeous checking and looks like they patched a couple of extra screws holes (possibly a thumb rest) but they are barely noticeable. Bass is very light and resonant with an incredible sustain due to the string through the body. The pencil dates are unfortunately not legible anymore but the serial of this bass is present on the bridge and can be found on Detlef Schmidt’s book. These early models are becoming incredibly hard to come by and this one is a great example.

1963 Fender Jazz Bass in Sunburst finish – Pre CBS – With Original Case

Highlights:

From the 4th year of production, this 61 years old Fender Jazz Bass is just perfection. Great weight, amazing tone, super comfortable neck profile, coveted Brazilian rosewood fretboard and a stunning 3 tone sunburst finish, all topped by the original rare cream tolex hard case, which was only made for less than a year. The alder body is resonant and light, finished in a beautiful 3 colour sunburst where the red hasn’t faded and still nice and vibrant. The pickguard doesn’t have cracks or the common snapped horns and doesn’t show signs of shrinking. The original 1963 pots work without scratches and the black bobbin pickups sounds delightful. Straight neck with a fully functional trussrod and a nice and smooth profile , so comfortable to play. Pickups covers in great condition as the rest of the original hardware. One for players and collectors.

1977 GIBSON THUNDERBIRD BICENTENNIAL BASS IN SUNBURST FINISH WITH ORIGINAL CASE

Highlights:
Great condition for this rare Gibson US made 1977 Thunderbird Bass from the limited Bicentennial edition. These basses were only produced form 1976 to 1979 and less than 2000 were made, according to Gibson. This one is all original and its surprisingly light with a phenomenal sustain and such an incredible tone. The neck is slim and comfortable and action is nice and low. Frets are in good condition and everything works as it should. The original alnico pickup are just magic and the high output is quite amazing considering they are nearly 50 old. Strap pin has been moved and original screw hole professionally filled but that’s all. The original Black tolex hard case is in great nick too with all the original latches working as they should . One for collectors and players.

STONEFIELD CLASSIC I M1-4C BASS – NATURAL FINISH – WITH ORIGINAL GIGBAG

It has also been sprayed in a matte satin clear and has a Funk Plate and Ramp, both veneered in tiger myrtle to match the jarrah binding and bridge. String Spacing: Classic (approx 19mm between strings at the bridge) Due to the low serial number, a unique build and the addition of customer requested mods, this bass has true potential for collectibility. A few notes: This is only the second bass we’ve made with a zero radius fingerboard. Note the cypress veneer over the laminates in the centre of the body. This is only the second instrument on which we’ve veneered over the laminates. In addition to the Funk Plate a ramp has been added between the rear pickup and bridge.
