Highlights:

A real player from the 70s with the tone and growl typical of these pre Ernie Ball musicman basses.

The original electronic work perfectly and it’s all original, with pots dated correctly and with the coveted black epoxy preamp which only lasted between 1976 and late 1978.

Hardware in great condition too with saddles and tuners moving freely,.

Beside a lot of wear on the body, this bass is as good as it gets.

Very skinny and narrow neck.

New frets and new bone nut.

1964 FENDER JAZZ BASS IN FIESTRA RED FINISH

Highlights:
Not something you see everyday, a 1964 Fender Jazz Bass in stunning fiesta red finish. This bass was born as fiesta red and got oversprayied at some point but you can still see the original factory fiesta red underneath the rare mint green pick guard. Neck is straight and action is perfect. A profile neck dated March 64, matching pots dated 50th week of 1963. The Brazilian rosewood fretboard is dark and beautifully worn. Both covers still on the bass. The original black bobbins are pure magic. Heaps of sustain and a smooth tone , thanks to the alder body combined with the maple neck. The original reversed kluson tuners and bridge are in perfectly working condition. The E tuner has the typical stress line on one of the screws, but it doesn’t affect the instrument as it looks like has been glued at some point and by the look of it hasn’t moved in years , so nothing to worry about as its a very common thing with these early fender basses. you can see that in the one of the pictures. A magnificent and rare instrument, and a phenomenal player. Comes with an old hard case.

1979 US GUILD B50 ACOUSTIC BASS WITH ORIGINAL HARD CASE

Super hard to find one of these , let alone in these condition and in Australia.

All original and with the original hard case, this bass is by many considered the best acoustic bass ever produced. Extremely rare as only a few hundreds of these have been made in the US between 1975 and 1987.

1991 MUSICMAN STINGRAY BASS IN AMAZING CONDITION WITH ORIGINAL CASE

Highlights:
Here we have a gorgeous example of early musicman stingray bass.
Made in USA in 1991, this bass has a lot of the features of the pre ernieball stingrays and it’s one of the last with the thin and lacquer finished neck, soon replaced in 93 with the modern unfinished oil rubbed satin chunky neck.
Another great feature is the early high mass bridge with the original Musicman mute system and the metal battery lid later replaced with plastic.
4.4 Kg , so not an heavy one either.
A very clean and gorgeous bass, especially for a 35 years old instrument.

1977 MUSICMAN STINGRAY BASS IN RARE CHOCOLATE BURST FINISH – ALL ORIGINAL WITH CASE

Highlights:

Original rare early musicman Stingray from the second year of production .

Only 3500 of these basses where made in 1977 and in late 1978 the original early preamp got discontinued.

This bass features the original first version of the black epoxy preamp.

The neck and body are stamped 1977 and the Tone and sustain of this bass is out of this world.

The grain on the ash body is gorgeous and the finish is sublime.

Super rare chocolate burst finish.

Being an early one , it has the original high mass bridge with string through the body and raising mutes mechanism.

1979 MUSICMAN STINGRAY BASS – FRETLESS – WITH ORIGINAL CASE – LIKE PINO PALLADINO

Highlights:

Possibly the rarest and most iconic version of the musicman Stingray, completely original and with case, original strap and catalogue, this bass is not just just a rarity, but one of the most iconic bass guitars of all times. Just like the one Pino Palladino used in the 80s with Paul Young, this 1979 original fretless musicman Stingray comes from my personal collection and will be listed only for a limited time so if you are interested, don’t hesitate to contact me. I have owned this beauty for a few years now and I have looked after it, servicing it regularly and oiling the fretboard to make sure it stays nice and dark. The body is unreal with one of the nicest timber figuring I have seen on one of these pre Ernie ball basses. The Musicman black strap is extremely rare as well and so is the catalogue inside the original black tolex case. There is also a musicman brass buckle from 1978 inside the case. Ernie Ball has made a reissue of these which I have tried and let me tell you, it’s not quite the same. Regretful sale but I have just purchased an expensive bass and something has to go, although if I sell something else in the meantime I will take the listing down and put this gem back in my collection.

A very rare bass , completely hand made in New Zealand by the genius of Tomm Stanley . They are made using a very unique design and locally sourced timber. Comes with the original branded gig bag Here is a full description from the Stonefield website Topwood: Cypress Fingerboard: Solomon Island Ebony Fingerboard Markers: Burghundy within White Gem Dots Fingerboard Radius: Zero Hardware: Titanium/blue Binding: – fine line: Australian Blackwood Sap – thick edge: Jarrah Nut: Jarrah Back of Neck Finish: Natural An M Series with a twist; This one was built to a unique set of specifications and is one of only two basses we’ve ever built with a zero-radius fingerboard and a centre veneer on the front covering the laminates of the through-body core. It has also been sprayed in a matte satin clear and has a Funk Plate and Ramp, both veneered in tiger myrtle to match the jarrah binding and bridge. String Spacing: Classic (approx 19mm between strings at the bridge) Due to the low serial number, a unique build and the addition of customer requested mods, this bass has true potential for collectibility. A few notes: This is only the second bass we’ve made with a zero radius fingerboard. Note the cypress veneer over the laminates in the centre of the body.
